- Restorative justice services
Voluntary and confidential victim-offender dialogue: - Regular meetings between the Caseworker and the accused person to discuss accountability and the underlying causes of criminal behaviours.
- Regular meetings between the Caseworker and the victim to identify needs, offer information and support, and identify affected family or community members who may also need support.
- Caseworker facilitates the exchange of information between parties through dialogue, letter writing, or videotaped interviews and sometimes face-to-face meetings.
- Services are offered both remotely and in person.
- Eligibility
- Adults and youth who are either victims of crime or have been charged with a crime. Program only accepts cases where both victim and accused choose to participate.
- Application Process
- Individuals who are accused of a crime should speak with their lawyer about a referral to CJP.
- Individuals who are victims of crime should call the Program directly or ask to be connected through the Investigating Officer, Victim Witness Assistance Program or the Crown Attorney associated with the case.
